Dust Productions was initially tasked with replacing the bluetooth-based sensors for Genie Health's mobile app with a solution based on the phone camera.  Several possible solutions were evaluated for this, and two recommendations were made: one for on-device computer vision, and one for a server-based solution.  The advantages of the on-device were that it was faster, and didn't require a persistent internet connection, and the advantages of the server-based solution was that it was more accurate.

Both solutions were prototyped in parallel for evaluation by Genie Health to make an informed decision.  Ultimately the server-based solution was chosen, and Dust Productions developed the solution, integrated it into the iOS and Android apps, and released them to the stores.  Genie Health was also having some issues with their telehealth solution, so we quickly resolved those issues and released the solution to patient apps.  Genie Health was able to scale by getting out of the hardware business by ditching their tablet and sensor kits and focus on making their platform better and acquiring customers.

Around a year later Genie Health approached Dusty with an interesting proposition.  They needed someone to head up their technology, and they wanted to bring him on as Chief Technology Officer.  Dusty accepted their offer, leading teams across the world (including the U.S., Canada, Europe, and India) in all aspects of development and technology processes.  This includes web front-end, web back-end, iOS, Android, cloud infrastructure, IT, UI/UX designers, support staff, etc. The consistent delivery of feature-packed and important releases over the course of his service led to the company growing and partnering with some of the largest healthcare systems and companies in Musculoskeletal space across the U.S.
